A CPD Seminar was organized by the ICAB on "Social Business and Accountability" on 13 May 2010 at ICAB Auditorium, CA Bhaban, Dhaka. Mr. Mawdudur Rahman, PhD, Professor, Suffolk University and President, Knowledge Globalization Institute, LLC presented the Keynote paper.

Welcoming the audience, the invited guests the Chief Guest, the Paper Presenter, the President, ICAB, Mr Jamaluddin Ahmed PhD, FCA said that Social Business and Accountability is a dynamic concept in modern economy as Social Business and Accountability bridges a link between the haves and have notes. Social Business is a bridge between human conditions such as the low income people and the moderate and high income people. So as Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh it is imperative for us to understand the concept of Social Business and Accountability. He highly praised the hard work done by Mr. Mawdudur Rahman in preparing a thematic paper on a critical issue like Social Business and Accountability. The President, ICAB drew the attention of the audience to the concept of Social Business and Accountability and request the them to align this concept with the concept of accounts and finance.

Dr Mashiur Rahman, Hon'ble Adviser for Economic to the Hon'ble Prime Minister, GoB in his speech a Chief Guest reflected the flow of economic activities going on in the country. He said that although Bangladesh was and underdeveloped country yet it is our pride that our economy has been rated B B - by reputed international rating agencies. Therefore, he said we are confident that the Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh will continue to contribute profusely as prime movers to move the wheel of the economy of the country. Dr Rahman highly praised the Author of the Keynote Paper.
