No. 1/1/ICAB-2010(2)- The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh in its meeting held on 23 March 2010, approved the revised Admission Criteria for publication in the Bangladesh Gazette and for the information of all concerned as under:

A.        Guidelines for the implementation of the Admission Criteria for CA Articleship:

Students having the following qualifications are eligible for Articleship:

(i) HSC/ ‘A’ Level

A+ (CGPA 5.00) in both SSC and HSC Examinations held under any recognized Education Board of the Country.

OR

‘O & A’ Level Stream

‘O’ Level       ‘A’ Level	Minimum Grade 2As & 3 Bs     2Bs or 3Cs	i). Points to be assigned for grade obtained:          Grade                          Points          A                                 10          B                                   6          C                                   4   ii). For Grade less than C, no points shall be assigned.   iii). Minimum points required for Admission:          ‘O Level’ total 38 points in maximum 7 subjects                               And          ‘A’ Level’ total 12 points in maximum 3 subjects

Period of Articleship: 04(four) years

Provided that candidates securing minimum 3As in ‘A’ Level will have a period of Articleship of three years six months.

Points consideration for SSC & HSC

GPA out of 5	Division	Points

2 to less than 3	Second	2

Graduates or Post Graduates in any discipline having minimum 07(seven) points with no third division or equivalent from any recognized Boards/Public Universities/National University and Private Universities/Institutes (as approved by University Grant Commission).

(ii).      Points consideration for Graduates/Post-graduates

Period of Articleship:03(three) years.

The above will be effective from 23 March 2010.
