Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with CPA Ireland

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA) have entered into a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). The MRA provides a route for qualified members of each body to become a member of the other body, and to enjoy the benefits which each organisation offfers.

This strategic partnership will allow the bodies to work more collaboratively, providing increased level of service to members; undertaking joint research and thought leadership initiatives on the global stage, and acting as advocates within the International Federation of Accounts (IFAC) and regional accounting networks.

The agreement took effect on January 1st 2013 and CPA , CEO of CPA Ireland Eamonn Siggings signed the MRA with ICAB President, Abdus Salam on the 24th of January.

Speaking about the MRA, Eamonn Siggins described it as yet another progressive step for both Institutes. " At CPA Ireland we are dedicated to building our international partnerships and this MRA with ICAB opens more doorways for both our Institute's members. I hope that this recognition agreement will signify the beginning of an excellent relationship and will develop and grow in the coming years."
