Finance Minister urges impactful contribution of Chartered Accountants in the progression of country
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal FCA, MP speaking to the Chartered Accountants at a programme titled ‘Listen to the Leader’ organized by the Institute of Chartered accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) on Monday, 24 February 2020 at CA Bhaban.
Government is working to ensure an inclusive growth of the country so that there will be an equitable distribution of wealth. We are determined that the benefits of all development works should reach to the backward people. We are working for the people specially underprivileged, and trying to bring them in the development process so that they could chase a dream of how to come out from the poverty and hunger. The government has a clear vision to make the country poverty and hunger free by 2030 and become developed country by 2041. The Chartered Accountants definitely are the part of this development route and the way the economy is moving forward. We have many challenges and more commitments of professional including CAs are required to address these challenges.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal FCA, MP made these remarks while he was speaking to the Chartered Accountants at a programme titled ‘Listen to the Leader’ organized by the Institute of Chartered accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) on Monday, 24 February 2020 at
CA Bhaban in the city. He urged for impactful contribution of professionals like Chartered Accountants in the progression of the country. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman not only dreamt of an independent country, he also dreamt of economic emancipation of the people. Everyone has to bear this philosophy in their hearts and come forward to work for the people, he added.
He also urged to the CAs for pursuing the best and upholding the idealism for attaining the points of sustainable development goals. Professionals should concentrate on the areas to create a business friendly atmosphere so that the country would advance in the ease of doing business index globally. Citing a news from an English daily he encapsulated that foreign investors are coming to Bangladesh considering it to be an ideal place for investment and safe return out of it.
ICAB President Muhammad Farooq delivered address of welcome. In his speech he said, ICAB and its members are firmly committed to become a partner of the government’s initiatives for economic development of the country. He further added that CAs would come forward to take up any role wherever assigned. Few hundreds of chartered accountants and auditors of listed companies attended the programme.
